MDA Camp 2017 - "Battle Royale: The Summoning"

"The Summoning". Using drums, and forming a drum circle, with drum circle facilitation techniques. At the July 18th, 2017, Muscular Dystrophy Association Summer Camp, at Twinlow Retreat near Rathdrum Idaho. We introduced participants to drumming, shield decorating, boffer LARP, and parallel tabletop RPG.

Here is a photo and short video clip of the Wheelchair Friendly RPG Trailer being setup at this year's Muscular Dystrophy Association's (MDA) summer camp in Idaho. RPG Research volunteers, using the RPG Trailer, preparing to provide adaptive drum circles, tabletop role-playing (RPG), and live-action role-playing (LARP) to children ages 6-17 with Muscular Dystrophy (MD), July 18th and 20th.

A mid-level position. The Volunteer Level 1 Professional Volunteer Game Master (GM) Trainee will learn to run RPG sessions in accordance with RPG Research standards. Sessions are for a broad range of participant populations, at various locations. We do offer training for those wishing to develop the appropriate skills, and willing to regularly attend the free weekly training sessions.

A senior level position. The Volunteer Game Master III (GM) Trainee provides role-playing game, and optional music, services to people with specific therapeutic needs (RPG Therapy), and provide RPG training (RPG Education) to people wishing to learn similar skills. Volunteer-level free training begins immediately.

This is an entry-level volunteer position with the possibility of optional free peer-training available. The player archetype is responsible for filling the role of various role-playing gamer "types". The participant takes on various Player Archetype roles to help training Game Masters learn how to address such situations more effectively. Types include: Munchkin, Rules Lawyer, Murder-hobo, etc. For people with little-to-no prior professional RPG experience, this is an excellent means of getting started gaining that experience.

An Entry Level Position. The Volunteer RPG Advocate Trainee, Level 1, promotes and advocates for role-playing games and related endeavors, including: RPG advocacy and therapeutic recreation advocacy.

Ryan is an avid RPG player and training as an RPG Advocate and Trainer. He is also a master of the culinary arts and hospitality. Another specialty of Mr. Allison is the art of Garde Manger (Fruit and Vegetable Artistry).

John Welker

John Welker received his Licensed Practical Nurse certification in 1995 and has worked in many care facilities, he has been involved with role-playing games since 1979, and is working toward being the first fully certified RPG Therapeutic RPG Trainer. He is also a military veteran.
